University Pathways Program

Study English and gain admission to an undergraduate degree or graduate degree program at an American university with the Acomm Global Education (AGE) University Pathways Program. Our Program is offered throughout the year and combines General English courses and/or test preparation courses with personalized college counseling and specialized academic services. International students in the Pathways Program select an Intensive English Course with 30 lessons per week or a Semi-Intensive Plus Course with 24 lessons per week, and may include Cambridge Exam Preparation, IELTS, or TOEFL courses as part of their studies. Students can receive a conditional letter of acceptance (to participating universities) prior to arrival at AGE and/or a TOEFL waiver once they have achieved the required level of English. In addition, students who wish to study at one or more AGE school can split their time between AGE Los Angeles, AGE Boston, and/or AGE Santa Barbara.

UNIVERSITY PATHWAYS PROGRAM FACT FILE

  • Level requirements: To enter a university, students will need to acquire an advanced level of English while studying at AGE.
  • Course options: Any combination of Semi-Intensive Plus, Intensive, Cambridge Preparation, IELTS Preparation or TOEFL Preparation courses.
  • Age: 16+ (high school graduate)
  • Start dates: Start date depends on desired duration of study and university semester start date. Contact AGE for initial consultation with an academic advisor, minimum length of program is determined by your English level when you begin your studies at AGE.

Universities Pathway Program Services

As a student in the University Pathways Program, you receive exclusive ELC Academic Services that help you apply to and gain entry into the college or university of your choice. Some of the services offered in the University Pathways Program are:

 

  • Pre-departure university admissions letter of acceptance
  • Students receive individual counseling from a designated ELC academic advisor, the advisor will help students apply and gain admission to the university of their choice
  • Direct-entry conditional acceptance (applicable to ELC’s university network) allow students to enter the university without a TOEFL or IELTS score
  • Opportunity to participate in academic skills elective class
  • Receive and build an academic portfolio binder
  • University tours
  • On-campus meetings with university recruitment counselors
  • University information workshops hosted by ELC

Universities Pathway Student Requirements

International students at any English level who have received at least a high school diploma may enter the Pathways Program in preparation for entry into an undergraduate degree program or graduate degree program. Depending on their level, students should begin their course at least 12 weeks before their proposed university entry date. Students may schedule to begin their Pathway Program any Monday.

Universities Pathways Student Conditional Letter Of Acceptance

Prior to beginning to study at ELC, international students entering the Pathways Program may request a conditional letter of acceptance from an ELC partner university or non-partner university. Conditional letters of acceptance allow students admission into the university of their choice after they have completed the required level of English at ELC. Conditional letters of acceptance are offered to international students who have met all non-English university requirements and are otherwise qualified for entry into an undergraduate degree program or graduate degree program once they achieve a required level of English. Every university offers a different combination of degrees and each has a different English level requirement to enter their degree programs as an international student.

Universities Pathways Student Tofel Wavier

ELC partner universities may waive students’ TOEFL requirement after they complete their English education at ELC and achieve the required English level.
