TEFL Certificate Course for Non-Native Speakers

Refresh your TEFL certification with an English Language Center (AGE) TEFL Certificate Course. Our TEFL Courses are designed for non-native English-speaking teachers of English looking to refresh their teaching skills and improve their English. Our courses are 35 lessons per week, and can be offered anytime for two weeks to groups of three or more participants. The TEFL Course combines our General English Course with classroom observation and TEFL methodology.

Teaching Methods

AGE Teaching Methods for TEFL Exam Preparation

The TEFL Course for non-native English-speakers is divided into three components:

General English Course

This section concentrates on areas of difficulty for very advanced non-native speakers of English. The section includes grammar, vocabulary, idioms, conversation and listening.

Classroom Observation

TEFL Course participants have the opportunity to observe AGE teachers teaching different skills and different levels. The participants observe a variety of teaching styles and techniques that are useful in their TEFL career. Participants have the opportunity to meet after the classroom observation with the AGE teacher and discuss their experience.

TEFL Theory & Methodology

Some of the topics covered in this portion of the program include: An introduction: Language learning and teaching EFL versus ESL Language testing and assessment English for specific purposes Program development and needs analysis Personality factors and learning Error analysis and correction Communicative lessons with multimedia Teaching grammar in theory and practice Teaching writing Socio-cultural factors and implications for ESL / EFL classrooms EFL materials evaluation
