Winter Junior Program in Los Angeles

  January 2, 2016 – January 30, 2016
  (Saturday to Saturday minimum 2-week enrollment)
• Ages: 14 – 17 years old
• Course: Semi-Intensive English Program – 20 lessons per week (50-minute lessons)
• Certification: Students receive AGE Certificate of Completion
• Accommodation: Homestay Accommodation
• Occupancy: Double room occupancy

• Meals:half-board (14 meals per week)
• Activities: Afternoon and/or evening activities Monday-Friday, full-day excursions each Sunday (Optional activities offered each Saturday)
• Airport Transfer: Included in the transportation fee, valid for Sunday arrivals and Saturday departures between 9 am – 9 pm
• Transportation to School: Group transfer by AGE staff.

Explanation of Courses

Number of levels: 12

English level evaluation with multi-level placement: Placement testing includes a grammar section, a writing section, and an interview with the Director of Courses. The three separate components of the test allow us to make accurate placements for each of the student’s classes.

Grammar Structure and Usage

• Teaches students the rules of grammar usage through communicative teaching methods.
• Gives students the opportunity to practice using grammar in both speaking and writing.

Conversation, Listening, Vocabulary and Pronunciation

• Gives students practice speaking in English and listening to and understanding English spoken by native speakers.
• Provides students with feedback and special exercises to help improve pronunciation.

Students participate in afternoon activities Monday-Friday. Afternoon activities are compulsory and are included in the junior program package. Evening and Saturday activities are also offered to all students. Evening and Saturday activities are optional and are done with the student’s host family.
